Rossi gearbox R3L561

From one moment to the next, the handling of containers at this crane was over. The gearbox was completely blocked and the container crane had to be taken out of use.

Activities: Repair Rossi gearbox R3L561

The bearings of the output shaft were broken and caused damage to the output shaft. Because little pieces of steel were found in the oil, they did not want to take any risks and it was decided to replace all bearings including the output shaft.

Due to the size of this job, the complete gearbox (5600kg) was removed from the crane house and repaired in the workshop.

Because the crane had to be operational again quickly, everything was done to install the gearbox back on the crane within a week and a half.
