Wheel contacts are frequently used on rail cranes to properly dissipate static electricity. Especially when it comes to quay cranes that create a lot of static electricity during unloading and process a product that also causes a lot of dust. In that case it is important that the carbon brush makes proper contact.
For this customer, the lifespan of the wheel contact was clearly over and this wearing part had to be replaced. After some searching, the correct spring carbon brush element was found and the scraper constructed.
The crane could then be used safely again.
