Allseas couplings

For a dive support vessel, Boone has supplied two new hydraulic clutch couplings to replace the old pneumatic clutch couplings.

P=1800 kW at 1400 rpm.

Replacement couplings

The input shaft is connected to the diesel engine by an elastic Vulkan EZR coupling. The output shaft is connected to the Schottel and Veth thrusters by means of a brake disc on a hub via a cardan shaft. 

These thrusters ensure that the ship meets the DP (Dynamic Positioning) requirements. 

Due to the high switching frequency, the old pneumatic couplings repeatedly failed. This problem was resolved by installing the new couplings.
