The input shaft is connected to the diesel engine by an elastic Vulkan EZR coupling. The output shaft is connected to the Schottel and Veth thrusters by means of a brake disc on a hub via a cardan shaft.
These thrusters ensure that the ship meets the DP (Dynamic Positioning) requirements.
Due to the high switching frequency, the old pneumatic couplings repeatedly failed. This problem was resolved by installing the new couplings.
