The reliability of the brakes on the lock gate units was no longer guaranteed. The brakes were old and still equipped with lifting magnets and weights and the drums were assembled by a machine factory in the past.
Because the brake drums had a drum diameter of Ø 210 mm, a standard brake could not be used. In short, a challenge to combine “old” and “new”. After thorough preparation and pre-fabrication in our workshop, all brakes on the 10 doors were replaced within two weeks.
