The gearbox has been dismantled for a standard overhaul by our technicians on board.
After disassembly, Boone took the gearbox off board and completely disassembled and inspected it in the workshop. The friction clutch turned out to be damaged, causing the clutch plates to get stuck and the clutch to remain fixed.
The parts have been replaced by new parts from stock. In addition, a number of parts have been repaired and the gearbox has been mounted. After this a test run was carried out.
Major damage was prevented by this precautionary service. The customer was able to put the gearbox back into service within two weeks.
