Jahnel Kestermann cutterdrive gearbox E560-1120

This Jahnel Kestermann cutterdrive gearbox was inspected in Sri Lanka by one of our Boone service engineers. Given the damage to the gears and the gearbox casing, the gearbox was completely dismantled and shipped by air freight (46,000 kg) to the Netherlands.

Repair Jahnel Kestermann cutter drive gearbox

A further inspection was performed by Boone and a repair advice was made.

The gearbox casing had to be machined at the location of the bearing pockets and the split of the casing. The casing has been completely realigned. Dowel pins were installed as an improvement. Gears were renewed as well as the complete output shaft.

After machining and manufacturing all new parts, the gearbox was completely reassembled by Boone mechanics in our workshop.

We completed this job within 6 weeks.

After the test run, the gear unit was taken to the port of Rotterdam by special transport and then transported by freight ship to Sri Lanka. Given the dimensions and weight of this gearbox, air freight transport was not an option.
