The reason for this inspection was an increase in the required power and the strange noises that could be heard.
The split bronze bush of the output shaft appeared to be damaged. Mainly due to a leaking oil cooler the gearbox internals were corroded at several positions. The output shaft and bearings have suffered a lack of lubrication due to a blocked oil distribution.
Boone manufactured new parts and assembled them on location.
After this, the gearbox was modified in some points to have more control over parts that are subject to heavy loads.
