After further inspection by our mechanic, it also turned out that the forward pinion shaft had a number of cracked teeth.
The shaft was dismounted and Boone delivered this pinion shaft in 4 weeks with Germanischer Lloyd approval, after which our service engineer went off to New York again to install the shaft.
This vessel has been out of service for less than 6 weeks.
After repair, the gear unit has been tested by a trial run and delivered to our customer.
