Overhaul Rhenania AWNS 50/56 So

Boone has revised the Rhenania reverse reduction gearbox type AWNS 50/56 So of a fishing vessel. This gear unit has been in operation trouble-free since 1984.
P= 1 x 1325 kW at 900 rpm.

Inspection / replacement of wearing parts

The top cover has been removed from the gearbox and both friction shafts have been taken off board and further dismantled in the local workshop. After inspection, all wearing parts were replaced, such as bearings, friction plates, seals, piston rings and bushings. 

After the complete overhaul, both clutch shafts were ready to be mounted on board. After mounting, the gear unit has been tested successfully by a trial run. The fishing vessel can ‘set sail’ again!
