A Rolls Royce bow thruster unit type TV 150 is mounted on board a cargo vessel. During a regular inspection it was found out that water had entered the lubrication oil.
It was decided to dismount the bow thruster from the vessel during a port call. With a trimmed vessel the bow thruster was removed from its tunnel. Our service engineer dismounted and inspected the bow thruster in a local workshop.
After this inspection the bow thruster has been assembled with new bearings, seals and o-rings. After the assembly works were finished, the bow thruster was filled with oil and pressure was tested. The unit was mounted back on board during the next port call of the vessel.
