After an incident during work in which the crankshaft of the starboard main engine turned out to be broken, Boone was asked to further inspect all gearboxes, i.e. 2 Mekanord propulsion units and 2 Kumera Norgear jet pump gearboxes.
The hydraulic disc coupling of one of the Kumera gearboxes appeared to have been burned. The teeth had sharp edges and needed grinding.
After this inspection, Boone disassembled and repaired the starboard jet pump gearbox. New bearings, seals and discs have been installed. After this, the gearbox was assembled and tested.
