During an inspection it became apparent that the method of switching on was not carried out correctly, causing damage to the coupling.
The gearbox was dismounted on board and the shafts with the coupling were further dismantled and inspected in the Boone workshop. No major damage was found, the shafts have been rebuilt with new bearings, seals and clutch plates from stock.
After assembly in the workshop, the shafts were mounted on board. During the test run, the Kumera gearbox type NKHU 15000 was found to be in order and the tugboat was able to resume work within 5 days.
