Because of this, metal particles went through the lubricating oil system. This caused damage to all other roller bearings.
It was decided to remove the shafts from board and transport them to our workshop. All bearings and seals were renewed. Remaining parts have been thoroughly inspected.
Exactly 6 days after the regular inspection, the gearbox could be put back into operation. The vessel could go to sea and maintain its schedule.
The cause of the damage has been investigated and a modification has been offered.
